Frequently Asked Questions for London Visitors

Can I travel back to London on the train with my finished knife or tool?

Yes, absolutely. At the end of your course, your hand-forged item is safely cooled, oiled, polished, and securely packaged in protective wrapping. It complies fully with UK transit requirements when kept packaged and stowed safely inside your main travel luggage or car boot for your journey home.

Are your weekend courses timed to suit London travellers?

Yes. Our standard full-day experiences generally begin at 09:30 AM. If you take an early morning train from Paddington, you can arrive in time. However, the vast majority of our London guests prefer to travel down on a Friday evening, stay in one of our recommended local country inns, and arrive fresh for a weekend forge experience.

Do you offer single-day turnarounds or do I need to book a hotel?

You can easily do it in a single day via a return train trip. However, because our forge sits in such a beautiful, peaceful part of the country, we highly recommend making a weekend of it to fully enjoy the rural reset. We can recommend many great places to stay locally!
