The Woodlands Area
If you’re not quite sure blacksmithing is for you, then our woodlands and showroom viewing area offers the perfect place to share the experience too. You can choose to capture some of the action on camera or relax and unwind with a book whilst the others get busy in the forge!
You can also enjoy browsing through our showroom and viewing what our Commission Blacksmiths have been up to. Our gift shop features plenty of souvenirs to remind you of your time with us.
Please note, we do not allow any dogs on site.
Perfect for the kids
For those with young children under the age of 7 years, the Woodlands area is an ideal place to entertain the children with our rope swing, woodlands trial hunt, and forest den making area, all overlooking the picnic area.
No special effects, rides or fast food outlets; just lots and lots of outdoor fun and adventure!
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Parental supervision is required to ensure social distancing.
Lunch at the Forge
We are very lucky to have partnered up with our local ‘Pengthley Farm Shop’ which supplies us with delicious home-cooked Pies, Pastries, and so much more. Our fridge is stocked well with a hearty selection and ready for you to warm up and enjoy. If you are a large group and would like to pre-order to avoid disappointment, please let our booking team know and we can arrange this for you. We do recommend that large groups pre-order.
In our showroom, we do have an honesty tuck shop which is perfect for stocking up on the sugar levels and enjoying a range of locally sourced treats. We do recommend bringing some loose change from home if you do wish to purchase from our Tuck shop as we have a minimum spend of £10.00 on a card.
We have a good relationship with our local pub, The Bridge Inn, which can supply delicious takeaway lunches for larger groups of 8+ upon request.
If you would like lunch delivered to you at the forge just get in touch with them with at least five days’ notice to avoid disappointment.
Alternatively, if you would rather bring your own lunch, our woodlands area is a lovely setting to sit down and have a snack with stunning views and friendly chickens!
Engagements and proposals
A wedding proposal is one of life’s most memorable moments. Over the years, Oldfield Forge has been lucky enough and had the pleasure of being involved in a number of wedding proposals.
Make it even more unforgettable by combining your engagement plans with a visit to the forge. Get down on one knee in our beautiful woodlands area and then work hand-in-hand with our team to design and make your own engagement or wedding rings.
This stunning romantic proposal is bound to do the trick! Work closely with our events team and we will ensure it is a day that is never forgotten.
