Set in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, this is the perfect place for family and friends to gather during your time with us
If you’re not quite sure blacksmithing is for you, then our woodlands and showroom viewing area offers the perfect place to share the experience too. You can choose to capture some of the action on camera or relax and unwind with a book whilst the others get busy in the forge!
You can also enjoy browsing through our showroom and viewing what our Commission Blacksmiths have been up to. Our gift shop features plenty of souvenirs to remind you of your time with us.
Please note, we do not allow any dogs on site.
Perfect for the kids
For those with young children under the age of 7 years, the Woodlands area is an ideal place to entertain the children with our rope swing, woodlands trial hunt, forest den making area, all overlooking the picnic area.
No special effects, rides or fast food outlets; just lots and lots of outdoor fun and adventure!
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Parental supervision required to ensure social distancing.
Enjoy lunch in the woods
We’re very lucky to have a good relationship with our local pub, The Garway Moon Inn, which can supply delicious lunches upon request. If you would like lunch delivered to you at the forge just get in touch with them with at least five days notice to avoid disappointment.
Please note that we do not deal personally with these lunches – please inform the Inn of any food allergies or intolerances.
Alternatively, if you would rather bring your own lunch then we can absolutely accommodate this too. We have lovely picnic benches in our woodland area where you can kick back and really take in your surroundings.
Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs on site.
And if it’s just a small snack or soft drinks you need, we have a small honesty tuck shop.
Engagements and proposals
A wedding proposal is one of life’s most memorable moments. Over the years, Oldfield Forge has been lucky enough and had the pleasure of being involved in a number of wedding proposals.
Make it even more unforgettable by combining your engagement plans with a visit to the forge. Get down on one knee in our beautiful woodlands area and then work hand-in-hand with our team to design and make your own engagement or wedding rings.
This stunning romantic proposal is bound to do the trick! Work closely with our events team and we will ensure it is a day that is never forgotten.
Are you looking for a unique location for an event or special gathering?
You can hire the Woodlands space for outdoor private events, and if you need something under-cover, our beautiful Scandinavian and Shepherd Huts are also available. We work with many local caterers and event organisers to help you create something special.
