From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into our working forge before receiving a comprehensive safety briefing and live demonstrations from your instructor. Then it’s your turn to fire up the forge, heat glowing steel, and hammer it into shape using traditional blacksmithing techniques. With expert guidance throughout, you’ll build confidence as your project comes to life before adding the finishing touches. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a handcrafted piece to be proud of, new skills, and the unforgettable satisfaction of saying, “I made that!”

Our Blacksmithing Experience – 5 Hours is a fun, hands-on introduction to the exciting world of blacksmithing. Guided by one of our experienced blacksmiths, you’ll learn the essential forging techniques as you heat, hammer, and shape steel into your own handcrafted project. With a wide range of projects to choose from, you can create something practical, decorative, or completely unique. No previous experience is needed, making it perfect for complete beginners, gift recipients, and anyone looking for an unforgettable day at the forge.

Please wear long trousers and sturdy, closed-toe footwear suitable for a workshop environment. Comfortable clothing is recommended, and long hair should be tied back where appropriate. We’ll provide everything else, including all tools, materials, and PPE. Simply arrive a few minutes before your session for check-in and your safety briefing.

The experience lasts approximately five hours and includes expert tuition, all materials, professional workshop tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Priced at £105 per person, you’ll choose one project from our range of five-hour blacksmithing items to forge and take home as your own handcrafted keepsake. Whether you create something practical, decorative, or a gift for someone special, you’ll leave with a unique piece you’ve made yourself. If you’re buying the experience as a gift, our 18-month gift vouchers give the recipient plenty of flexibility to book a date that suits them.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners and is suitable for individuals, couples, friends, families, and small groups.

Participants aged 7 and above are welcome to take part. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult on site. The accompanying adult may either participate in their own activity or supervise without taking part. If the adult is supervising only, only one non-participating adult per booking is permitted inside the forge.
